Regional Technical Sales Manager (Home office)

Job Highlights
  • This position is home office based.  Candidate must be located within a close (reasonable) proximity to a large airport.  Preference given to candidates on the Eastern side of the USA.
  • Call on end users, OEM, distributors, A/E, etc. within the designated region for the purpose of IX resins, RO membranes and Bayoxide applications.
  • Establish and document 100% of the demand at every customer relevant to our product portfolio, and define the strategy to participate in that demand.
  • Work with customers and engineering personnel for process reviews, product selections, and system optimizations, providing technical and commercial support.
  • Through personal customer contact, aggressively solicit new business in the water treatment and industrial process applications where the superior performance of our products and our technical expertise can be used to our advantage.
  • Provide direct customer interface on pricing, availability, technical data, samples, literature and negotiation through closure
  • Provide regular communications, with internal personnel and arrange joint travel with marketing people as required.
  • Supply input for preparation of sales, volume and expense forecast and budgets.
  • System, design and optimization strategy  LANXESS to participate in that demand 
  • Solicit and close new business
  • Ensure technical expertise can be used to LANXESS’ advantage
  • Expense forecast and budgets -based on market intelligence, customer situation, long term plans and competitive situation
  • Understanding value proposition and basic sensing, judgement and interpretation of complex and technical details
  • Specific Education: BS Chemistry or Chemical Engineering (advanced degree in Organic Chemistry preferred).
  • Work Experience: 5 to 10 years experience, Ion Exchange, Reverse Osmosis and Industrial Water Treatment applications, Project management preferred
  • Special Skills:
  • Open and effective communication, understanding value proposition and basic understanding of complex and technical details
  • Ability to present  LPT’s technical/sales proposition, multiple and changing priorities requires organizational flexibility, combined ability to work independently and effectively in a team environment,
  • Develop productive and long term relationships with key customers and key stakeholders in technical and commercial roles at final users and OEM mainly.
