This role is for a Senior Inspector IKT3 who wants to take real ownership of pressure equipment integrity inside a complex chemical plant.
Our Rotterdam Botlek site operates 24/7 under Seveso (BRZO) regulation, handling flammable, toxic, and environmentally hazardous substances.
When inspection integrity fails, the consequences are legal, operational, and safety‑critical.
We are looking for someone who:
- Takes statutory compliance seriously
- Is confident acting as technical and legal authority
- Is visible in the plant and decisive in the field
- Understands risk beyond checklists
- Is comfortable interfacing with regulators and notified bodies

Job Highlights
What you will actually do
You are responsible for the integrity and legal compliance of pressure‑containing equipment.
In the field
- Execute and coordinate statutory and non‑statutory inspections
- Be present during critical inspections, repairs, and deviations
- Assess degradation mechanisms such as corrosion, erosion, and wall loss
- Intervene when integrity or compliance is at risk
- Guide technicians and contractors during inspection activities
In inspection & integrity management
- Develop and maintain inspection plans based on legal and technical risk
- Translate inspection findings into concrete maintenance actions
- Improve inspection strategies using risk‑based principles
- Ensure inspection scope is aligned with plant changes and aging assets
- Maintain traceable, audit‑ready inspection documentation
In safety, law & compliance
- Act as IKT3 inspection authority under the Commodities Act
- Safeguard compliance with (inter‑)national pressure equipment regulations
- Serve as primary contact for NL‑CBI and external authorities
- Challenge operations or planning when compliance is at stake
- Support audits, incident investigations, and regulatory reviews
In shutdowns and projects
- Prepare and technically support inspections during turnarounds
- Review inspection scope for modifications and new installations
- Ensure inspection requirements are embedded in project execution
- Prevent late discoveries by proactive inspection involvement
In leadership
- Coach and technically guide Inspectors IKT2
- Provide functional leadership to internal teams and external specialists
- Set inspection standards through expertise, not hierarchy
Experience and Skills
What you bring:
- Bachelor’s degree (HBO) in Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering, Materials Science, or similar
- Certified and authorized to operate as Inspector IKT3
- Experience with pressure equipment inspections in chemical or petrochemical plants
- Strong knowledge of the Commodities Act, PED, and inspection regulations
- Comfortable working in Seveso (BRZO) regulated environments
Nice to have:
- Experience with NL‑CBI interactions and audits
- Risk‑Based Inspection (RBI) experience
- Corrosion and materials expertise
- Turnaround and shutdown inspection experience
Contract Type: Regular perment

- Salary scale L: €5,670 – €7,954 gross per month (depending on experience)
