Job Highlights

  • Continuously meet the customer’s needs on product quality by accurately performing routine and non-routine analytical testing on raw materials, in-process samples and final products, entering results in appropriate database in a timely manner and generating certificates of analysis when necessary;
  • In support of process improvement, manufacturing, environment, safety, application development of customer troubleshooting, conducts lab evaluation projects to develop, improve or service the company’s products.  Under the direction of a lab coordinator, independently conducts tests and experiments to produce information on product composition or quality, process developments, raw material, equipment or new applications
  • Train and assist, as needed, lab technicians/chemists in their development and  serve as backup when necessary.
  • Report results in a statistical manner to superiors identifying deviant results and alternative protocols to identify problems or provide solutions.
  • Analyze, interpret and report development project results as well as data generated from trial runs, customers, R&D, QAL or manufacturing.
  • Set up new lab equipment, write work instructions and train production operators.
  • Assist Raw Material Coordinator responsible for overseeing raw material quality.

Requirements

  • Requires a BS degree in science or engineering with two years of experience.  Non-degreed individuals must have proven scientific or engineering experience with the technology, précis or methods.
  • Must be capable of valid experimental design and data evaluation. 
  • Oral and written communication with statistical and analytical skills of advance quality is desirable. 
  • Must work well in a team situation with others, scientific and nonscientific.
  • Must carry out project team responsibilities in a timely manner. 
  • An understanding of the process, product or customer and an understanding of some of the technical intricacies inherent in the system is desirable.
