Job Highlights

  • Gather and maintain site environmental records and track and dispose of the sites Hazardous and Non-Hazardous wastes.
  • Monitor all waste inventory, receive, review and record waste storage inspection reports. Correct deviations and deficiencies.Update and create waste profiles for hazardous waste shipments and monitor universal and e-waste for disposal.
  • Collect and maintain air monitoring and scrubber data records, site opacity readings and boiler fuel oil data. 
  • Support RCRA, DHEC, EPA, Homeland security and internal environmental and safety audits.
  • Complete SPCC, SWPP monthly and quarterly. Sample OSU HEX quarterly for compliance. 
  • Conduct respirator fit testing for the site. Manage safety glass and shoe programs. Update and maintain SDS hard copies, conduct fork truck training and certification, conduct contractor training and new hire orientations.
  • Conduct site tours making observations for HSSE deficiencies and opportunities for improvement. Audit SWP's monthly.


  • Minimum Associates degree in technical discipline preferred and 3 to 5 years' experience in HSSE and chemical manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of safety systems and regulatory requirements (EPA, NCSD, RCRA, OSHA)
  • Minimum 5 years HAZMAT and ER response training.
  • Knowledge of safety hazards and appropriate precaution applicable to work assignments.
  • Ability to identify equipment problems such as leaks, inadequate machine guards and ergonomic issues.
