Head of Maintenance&Reliability

Job Highlights

Responsible for maintaining the safe, reliable, and cost-effective operation of all production, utility, security, and administrative assets at the Charleston site. This role owns asset integrity, maintenance performance, reliability improvement, and capital governance, ensuring compliance with PSM, safety, and environmental requirements. This position provides leadership to Maintenance, Reliability, and Capital functions, controls the maintenance and capital budgets, and ensures effective execution of shutdowns and turnarounds. Capital project execution is performed by a Project Manager and Contractor Project Manager (as needed), with this role accountable for technical direction, prioritization, and governance.

  • Ensure safe work is performed daily across maintenance, contractors, and projects  
  • Manage maintenance expense budget (forecasting, control, variance explanation      
  • Coach, lead, and develop Maintenance Supervisors, Planner, and Reliability Engineer                                                             
  • Provide technical direction and decision-making for major equipment repairs and failures                                                   
  • Approve maintenance costs, requisitions, and best-path-forward decisions                    
  • Work with Capital Project Manager and Contractor Project Manager on scope, priorities, and technical alignment                                                 
  • Maintain strong field presence in plants and maintenance shops                                            
  • Work with Corporate / Central Maintenance & Engineering on standards and best practices
  • Provide planning direction and readiness oversight for shutdowns and turnarounds   

Experience / Skills

  • Bachelor’s of Science in Engineering
  • 10+ years plus of related experience
  • Proven leadership skills coaching and leading teams                                                                                                           
  • Experience in SAP     
  • Proven expereince with material compatibility                                                                  
  • Knowledge and experience with API-510, 570, 653, IMDG, DOT
