Job Highlights

The Master Production Planner is responsible for the global supply of the entire product range produced in the Charleston plant. This role is an expert of operational and tactical supply chain processes and reports to the Global Demand & Supply Manager. This critical role interacts daily with employees from operations, product management, procurement, logistics, and commercial teams to close operational gaps. This role is also responsible for the global product and raw material container fleet related to the plant's operations and ensures a healthy balance between supply feasibility and cost efficiency. Key duties include, but are not limited to: 

  • Facilitate and support the S&OP/IBP meetings.  Practices good IBP behaviors and helps to generate alignment across multiple business functions.  Supports metric review and root causing below-target performance with corrective action implementation.
  • Creates long-range master plan as well operational production schedule in PPDS/SAP.
  • Supports New Material Request process by providing supply chain relevant master data.  Accountable for the local execution of supply chain plans, target setting, and process adherence.
  • Collaborate with demand planning to convert forecast into production or inventory requirements for internal & external suppliers.
  • Manages rail car and container fleet for finished products and raw materials used for transports to our end customers and from our suppliers.
  • Ensure that production is scheduled in a manner that maximizes quality consistency and productive use of assets.
  • Responsible for systems and analytics and plays a major role in upcoming SAP IBP and S&OP roll-outs in the NORAM region.
  • Designs and sets up supply chain analytics in SAP IBP.
  • Work closely with manufacturing and the Plant Manager to make sure that potential deviations from master plan are challenged and resolved for the future.
  • Plan raw material replenishment and place purchase requisitions.  Monitor to ensure raw materials arrive on time to support the production plan.  Monitor the usage of key raw materials by utilizing planning and execution systems and by working with the procurement and manufacturing departments.
  • Acts as Key user in SAP IB & SAP PP/DS. Trains new functionalities in the environment of SAP IBP.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree required from ideal fields of Supply Chain, Engineering, Commercial or Sciences; an MBA is preferred.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience. 
  • Excellent business acumen and understanding of business strategies
  • Excellent analytical, technical and problem-solving skills
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel
  • Experience with PPDS / SAPIBP Demand & IBP Supply
  • Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills in a global network
  • Extraordinary ability to plan and organize work

Please note, the actual compensation may vary based on geographic location, work experience, education, and skill level.
