Job Highlights

  • Conduct regular and frequent review of process performance against expected parameters to identify deviations that affect efficiency and rates
  • Provide technical support to operations to troubleshoot problems
  • Develop and maintain content and accuracy of unit operating procedures
  • Initiate and implement process changes that improve process performance, efficiency and process safety.  Ensure that documentation that needs to be changed is identified. Ensure that P&ID’s, operating procedures and interlock matrices are updated accordingly
  • Lead process improvement teams
  • Lead process safety studies
  • Prepare basic process design packages for the initiation and execution of capital projects that support improvements in their respective units
  • Provide necessary technical training in support of operations regarding process changes and new processes
  • Develop and maintain process interlock matrices
  • Lead and manage small capital project for process/site improvement
  • Lead, support and participate in unit GAP improvement teams
  • Monitor production unit efficiency and coordinate process improvement activities with unit management
  • Participate in WCM activities representing process engineering in WCM activities
  • Support troubleshooting efforts of the unit operating team, up to and including taking off hour calls, and responding to the plant if needed

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering
  • 5 plus years experience working in a chemical manufacturing plant
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Needs to be a "change agent" for process improvement for their respective unit(s) including process safety, and rate and yield optimization.
