Job Highlights
- The principal responsibilities of the Maintenance Mechanic III position are to ensure that the processes are maintained to ensure optimum performance, reliability and uptime. This position will be responsible for conducting preventative and corrective maintenance of production equipment and troubleshooting problems while applying theory and related knowledge to install, rebuild, or repair production equipment as needed. The Maintenance Mechanic III will be expected to perform troubleshooting and repair of a wide range of equipment including but not limited to packaging systems, pumps, motors, agitators, general equipment and facilities issues.
- This role shall ensure all required tools, parts and supplies are available for each job performed; will complete required service records; and will be responsible for recommending and/or initiating equipment modifications and/or replacement of equipment components as well as performing and supporting installation of new equipment.
- Additionally, the Maintenance Mechanic III provides training and support to other maintenance technicians. Maintenance mechanic I will also have responsibilities to support and learn basic E&I Maintenance skills and tasks as necessary.
- The Maintenance Mechanic IIII closely integrates with the operating area s/he is assigned to, providing insights into the work team concept to ensure that team and business goals are achieved. As such, if business or operational situations necessitate, the Maintenance Mechanic IIII may be called upon to backfill operations personnel. They are also expected to proactively assist operations personnel as needed in daily activities to meet organizational objectives.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalence required, 2 year technical degree or 5 years industrial work experience in relevant equipment maintenance field preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years manufacturing experience.
- Must have motors, pumps, agitators, facilities maintenance experience, as well as experience with industrial conveyors, HVAC, boiler, air compressors, and excellent knowledge of automatic packaging equipment.
- Basic knowledge of electrical systems
- Capable to safely use hand and power tools
- Welding and machinist skills highly desirable
- Available for on-call duty
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs, climb ladders and stairs, and stand for continuous periods of time with or without reasonable accommodation
- Ability to work in a hot, humid, noisy and high volume machine production area
- Ability and willingness to work safely and wear PPE as required
