Job Highlights

  • Fully understand the BU or GF’s requirements in order to effectively negotiate  appropriate contract terms, conditions and pricing.
  • Negotiate terms and conditions which limit LANXESS‘ financial and legal risks, and which are enforceable under the applicable law of contract.
  • Resolve problems dealing with interpretation of existing contracts which may have significant financial impact.
  • Implement supply chain strategies and plans consistent with overall department and corporate strategic direction in all day-to-day activities.  Responsible for maintaining and ensuring that Procurement is in compliance with ISO9001 and RC 14001; LANXESS Corporate Requirements and any other corporate Quality and HSE directives.
  • Contract development and administration:  Under limited guidance, provide contractual strategy/execution of contracts as required for business compliance.  Provide a lead-role in supplier negotiations for developing final costs in these contracts.  Contract administration includes:  claims, back-charges and dispute resolution.
  • Working under limited guidance, assists in the development and qualification of sources to support the ongoing purchase of supplies, equipment and services at the most cost effective level while monitoring and ensuring that supplier quality, service and LANXESS performance remains consistently high.  Conducts new sourcing, bidding and negotiations to meet business area requirement while supporting continuous improvement in terms of Quality, Service and Total Cost of Ownership.
  • Provide support to ensure all established guidelines, policy and governance across LANXESS are adhered to

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in Business, Engineering or applicable related field
  • Min. of 5 years of experience in purchasing, materials management, contract management or related field or 7-10+ years related experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Strong negotiation skills, analytical skills and communication skills
  • Ability to use organizational and prioritization skills to manage different projects and bids simultaneously
