Job Highlights
  • Essential link between Procurement’s Technical Goods team and Technical Services category and Project Engineering with regards to procurement of medium to large size Capital Projects at 5 sites – typically with a Total Investment Cost >3 million US$.
  • Participate and plan project procurement for all capex projects from inception stage to commissioning
  • Be part of the Capex management team, involve in supporting estimates for projects, guide and help negotiate contracts for FEL1/2/3 concepts
  • Develop project procurement plans in conjunction with commodity managers and PTSE organization
  • Develop and manage procurement risk matrix and act as risk responder for procurement activities
  • Develop project bidders list and bidding/execution strategy for major capex projects
  • Help compile RFQ’s for different work packages and support/oversee bidding efforts on major bid packages
  • Lead GPL tactical team in negotiating large contracts, attend kick off meetings and ensure adherence to budget and schedule.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field; Bachelor’s degree in Business or Engineering is a plus
  • 10 plus years of relevant project procurement experience. Professional Certification like PMP or CPSM is a plus. 
  • Leadership and Project Management experience required
  • To establish relationships and expediting/attending meetings with providers, travel is required. Estimated travel expectation is 20%.
  • Experience working in project industry, preferably chemical/petrochemical industry
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal) are required.
  • Proven ability to develop and deliver persuasive argumentation in pricing and contract negotiations/contractor management skills are required.
  • Thorough understanding of the typical language found in EPC/EPCM/Engineering/Service contracts and sensitivity to the clauses having particular importance to the organization
  • Basic understanding of management accounting principles and financial analysis skills are essential.  Understanding of chemical processes, engineering or construction processes is a strong plus.
  • Strong analytical skills and matching skill level using Power Point, Excel etc . Ability to present strategy documentation to senior management to get buy in for the strategy
