Job Highlights

The purpose of this position is to provide support as an individual contributor to the environmental management program and site support through multiple avenues including, but not limited to, field data acquisition, waste characterization, routine sampling, compliance inspections, reporting support, emergency response, basic preventative maintenance and troubleshooting, environmental auditing, safe work and job safety analysis preparation, identification and corrective action implementation of possible environmental, health, safety, and security non-compliance or near hit/hazardous conditions, participation in sustainability projects, and involvement in process safety initiatives such as HAZOPs, PHA, and MOC processes. Other job requirements include some overtime and rotational weekend work, forklift certification, 40-hour HAZWOPER certification, and adherence to site and environmental operating procedures, challenging and providing feedback in a professional manner on improvements to the total South Arkansas Management System.

  • Field data acquisition and sampling;
  • Waste characterization and preparation/execution of waste shipments;
  • Operation of environmental assets including basic troubleshooting;
  • Weekend/holiday coverage of environmental assets requiring daily monitoring and data collection;
  • Improvement/sustainability project support;
  • Data entry into applicable compliance support tool;
  • Schedule and follow-up of maintenance activities related to Environmental assets;
  • Participate in internal/external auditing, process safety reviews, and operating procedure review

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent. College diploma preferred. 
  • Prior experience working in a manufacturing and/or environmental industry.
  • Mechanical/Operational background with basic understanding of chemical interactions and environmental compliance.
  • Strong attention to detail. 
  • MS Office experience.
  • Excellent communication skills.
