Position Overview

 

This position impacts the performance of the operation on a day to day basis by providing the proper technical support in solving problems and by eliminating failures through implantation of reliability centered maintenance and preventive maintenance optimization programs.  The incumbent plays a major role in successfully designing and implementing engineering projects, both in terms of operability and cost effectiveness

Job Highlights

  • Work on technical issues concerning maintenance, including collaboration with others to optimize equipment availability.
  • Analyze technical weaknesses, develop concepts to overcome technical faults, participate in the development of equipment requirements, and develop preventive/predictive maintenance programs.
  • Define/monitor/assist in procurement of spare parts for existing plants/new plants.
  • Serve as skilled end-user for SAP PM and PS module.
  • Implement capital projects and MOC’s involving technical modifications and additions.
  • Develop and write detailed equipment specifications and maintenance procedures.
  • Manage a risk-based mechanical integrity program based on recognized engineering codes, standards and procedures. Maintain the equipment database and ensure that all equipment inspections are performed and documented.
  • Assist in training of mechanics and chemical plant operators as necessary.
  • Ensures that Safety, OSHA, USEPA, SCDHEC and other regulatory requirements are met or exceeded in functional areas.  Participates in Safety Audits, Process Safety Management, ISO 9001, RC 14001 and Site Safety Process activities to ensure requirements are met or exceeded.

Requirements

  • B.S. Degree in Mechanical or chemical Engineering
  • 3+ years experieince 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Innovative and creative to identify root causes of problems and continuously improve
