Job Highlights

  • Acts as plant liaison to functional support organizations (Supply Chain, Maintenance, etc.)
  • Ensures appropriate resources are allocated to perform operational tasks and activities
  • Ensures operational tasks are value added, clearly defined, scheduled and completed to maintain reliability and compliance
  • Determines if procedures and plans are aligned and revises as necessary
  • Ensures production and packaging needs are met
  • Works with Maintenance group to plan and schedule maintenance and turn-around work
  • Participates in development/monitoring of the operations and maintenance budget and applies status/forecast as an input to manage work in the facility
  • Collects and/or reviews process data for improvement purposes and corrective actions
  • Leads training of new employees, including both technical and “soft skill” training
  • Acts as technical resources and process subject matter expert for production and packaging operations
  • Enhances front line skills and knowledge of plant personnel and related roles through coaching on plant process, equipment, engineering, reliability principles, Life Critical Standards, etc. 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM field or 5+ years of relevant chemical manufacturing experience
  • Ability to quickly learn and adapt in a high paced environment
  • Influential leader who can engage and lead others
  • High level of confidence in his/her decision making skills
  • Can look at the big picture (production versus costs) and make the correct decisions to support plant and business objectives and targets
  • Supports team consensus
  • Adheres to all safety rules as well as plant and company policies
  • Excellent organization and time management skills to include prioritization, scheduling, and optimizing work force skills and resources
  • Thorough knowledge of the work processes and enabling IT tools
  • Has built positive working relationships with others across the organization and functional support organizations that enable other roles to be successful by holding individuals accountable to perform their roles
  • Understanding of budgeting processes and status; applies knowledge of maintenance and operations budgets in decision making.
  • Ability to value assess service requests and say no to requests if they are not aligned to current plant goals
  • Will not accept substandard performance from others and will coach peers to improve performance and exceed expectations
  • Respected by peers
  • Thorough knowledge of the plant process technology
