Job Highlights

 

  • Be responsible for the development and implementation of the global purchasing strategy for technical goods and services for the global production sites of LANXESS including investment projects
  • Drive automation and catalog management for technical goods ensuring state of the art standards
  • Lead a team of ~35 strategic buyers and project procurement managers
  • Ensure compliance of sourcing strategies and make sure established targets are met with regards to supplier evaluations, sustainability initiatives, cost reduction reporting
  • Identify opportunities for cost optimization, quality and delivery improvements, e.g. New Sourcing Markets, Supplier Set-Up, E-Auctions
  • Support and advice GPL regions in the local procurement activities for Technical Goods & Services and provide guidance for capex projects in the regions
  • Lead the effective implementation of all TGS purchasing concepts, manage the interface between BUs and GPL Categories with regards to contract management, realization of financial Savings and Risk management to enhance corporate buying power
  • Involve if necessary in tender processes and contract negotiations and act as point of escalation

 

The Head of Technical Goods & Services (Vice President) reports to the CPO of the LANXESS group who is a direct report of the Board of Management

Requirements

 

  • Technical/science university degree or equivalent with profound technical knowledge about production processes, relevant technical equipment and safety standards for LANXESS sites
  • Entrepreneurial and flexible mindset with excellent analytical skills and problem solving skills
  • Experienced Project Manager with proven organizational skills to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously
  • Proven ability to develop and deliver persuasive argumentation in pricing and contract negotiations
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with individuals at all levels of LANXESS and supplier organizations
  • Excellent people management skills in an international environment
  • Fluent in German and English
