Job Highlights
The successful candidate will play a key role in creating a competitive advantage and minimizing risk for LANXESS through the strategic sourcing of Technical Procurement. This role requires close collaboration with business units and group functions to drive cost savings and operational efficiency. Key responsibilities include:
- Partner with business units and group functions to develop and implement strategic initiatives that lead to significant cost reductions.
- Analyze company-wide spend data to identify sourcing opportunities that benefit internal stakeholders.
- Develop and recommend short- and long-term procurement strategies regionally or globally.
- Coordinate with global category procurement and site procurement teams to identify and leverage sourcing synergies.
- Gain a deep understanding of business unit (BU) or group function (GF) requirements to negotiate effective contract terms, pricing, and conditions.
- Work with internal stakeholders to establish framework contracts for associated services, improving process automation.
- Negotiate contract terms that mitigate financial and legal risks while ensuring enforceability under applicable contract laws.
- Address contract-related issues that may have significant financial implications, such as price formula analysis, tier discounts, and release conditions.
- Ensure procurement operations provide high-quality products and services in the right quantity, at the right time, and at acceptable quality levels.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Finance, or Business Administration (MBA preferred). Candidates without a degree will be considered if they have 10+ years of relevant experience.
- Procurement Expertise: Strong understanding of procurement contract language, with the ability to identify and negotiate key clauses that protect the buyer’s interests.
- Negotiation Skills: Proven experience negotiating high-value contracts to secure favorable terms, cost savings, and quality improvements.
- Strategic & Analytical Abilities: Strong strategic sourcing and data analysis skills to identify opportunities and drive efficiency.
- Leadership & Communication: Excellent communication, leadership, and emotional intelligence to manage complex discussions with internal stakeholders and suppliers.

- Compensation: We offer competitive compensation packages, inclusive of a global bonus program and an individual performance bonus program. In accordance with Washington state requirements, the pay range for this position is Min: $113,600 to Max: $189,400.
