Job Highlights

  • Repair, maintain and troubleshoot plant equipment and machinery used in the processing of chemical substances, such as mixers, conveyors, compressors, pumps and engines, adhering to safety standards
  • Clean and maintain plant maintenance areas and equipment regularly as required, promoting environmental cleanliness and efficiency
  • Perform work order repairs, inspections and adjustments in accordance with pre-established maintenance schedules 
  • Attend and participate in plant, shift, safety and quality meetings as required, provide accurate maintenance reporting and completing job safety evaluations as requested
  • Receive and complete daily work assignments, documentation and checklists as required, adhering to process and industrial safety guidelines and requirements
  • Lead and assist in the fabrication and modification of new and existing equipment and machinery
  • Review machinery and equipment specifications and formulations for proper usage, utilizing specified checklists as appropriate and maintaining appropriate inventory of tools, and documentation
  • Assist with the maintenance and daily operation of all physical working elements of the facility, including electrical, plumbing, signage and hazardous material disposal functions, coordinating with third party vendors as contracted or necessary
  • Operate and prepare for operation welding, drilling, grinding and other metal working equipment and tools
  • Assist in the quality review of equipment operation and production outcomes, troubleshooting equipment and results for potential errors or issues and reporting them as necessary
  • Coordinate and participate in the seasonal preparation of appropriate equipment and systems, including the coordination and participation in facility snow and ice removal

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED); technical trade certification preferred.
  • Minimum five years experience with hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical and mechanical machines and equipment, including maintenance and repair.
  • Minimum three years maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment; chemical industry preferred.
  • Ability to function independently in a team environment with minimal supervision.
  • Knowledge of hazardous waste materials and the appropriate handling and disposal of such products.
  • Basic welding, plumbing, electrical and construction experience and knowledge.
  • Previous experience with PLC circuitry, equipment, processes and programming preferred.
  • Current Arkansas Boiler Operator’s License.
  • Basic mathematical and computer literacy skills.
  • Superior verbal and written English communication and comprehension skills, specifically.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematic documents and drawings.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of basic manufacturing safety and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) guidelines.
  • Working knowledge of polymer or rubber manufacturing specifications and raw materials preferred.
  • Current towmotor/forklift license or certification.
  • Ability to complete assigned tasks in a timely manner.
