Job Highlights
  • Manage and coordinate all site QC standards, process and occupational safety standards, policies and initiatives, performing scheduled internal/external audits, reviews and planning;
  • Drive effective change management of quality processes and standards, for efficiency, environmental and process safety risk management purposes, and providing input for capital improvements.
  • Design, develop and propose improvements to quality and safety
  • Lead appropriate root cause and correlation analysis to identify and develop corrective actions for solving product, process failures, safety issues or injury risks, as well as quality issues.
  • Manage the review and implementation of QC policies and process safety, ensuring remedial plans, audits and action items are completed. 
  • Ensure site ISO 9001, RC 14001 compliance, providing direction and leadership for site quality assurance and control standards, directives and initiatives;
  • Manage all aspects of the LOTO and ensure site training;
  • Participate and assist in the formulation and implementation of short- and long-term site continuous improvement and HSESQ strategic plans.
  • Manage the QC lab personnel;
  • Partner with Supply Chain and Logistics personnel ensuring quality documents and orders are accurate and consistent.
  • Assist in the review and investigation of internal and external product complaints and process non-conformances to ensure root cause analysis and corrective action planning has occurred.
  • Partner with corporate HSESQ personnel to develop and maintain management systems that meet all regulations and standards;
  • Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, polymer science or related technical field.
  • Minimum five years experience in a rubber industry.plant manufacturing experience; with occupational health and safety and/or industrial risk management background.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex concepts across all organizational levels.
  • Strong strategic, analytical and conceptual-thinking skills with knowledge of production operations environment including logistics, quality, safety and materials planning functions.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while meeting assigned deadlines.
  • Previous personnel management experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide leadership and promote teambuilding and integrity, while supporting Group and Company objectives.
  • Excellent problem-solving, time management and decision-making skills, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Basic knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health Administration regulations and guidelines.
  • Basic knowledge of ISO 9001 and 14001 certification standards and processes.
  • Basic knowledge of best-in-class manufacturing techniques, standards and practices, including knowledge of Lean and Kaizen manufacturing practices.
  • Basic computer software and data retrieval systems knowledge or experience;  SAP experience preferred.
  • Ability to maintain the highest levels of confidentiality, flexibility and adaptability.
