Job Highlights
- Test, troubleshoot and repair electronic equipment and electrical circuits as needed.
- Calibrate and troubleshoot gauges, temperature controllers, pressure sensors, etc.
- Perform basic maintenance and troubleshoot process control computer systems, including but not limited to DCS, Modicon & Siemens PLC Control.
- Logix, and RSLogix using portable computers; troubleshoot temperature, level, and pressure control instruments and processors; troubleshoot AC or DC variable speed drives.
- Full knowledge of safety regulations with emphasis on energy isolation, lockout, confined space entry, and line breaking procedures.
- Setting and calibrating safety limit controls, relief devices, check valves, and electrical equipment for temperature, pressure, flow rate, levels, voltage, and current according to service manuals, schematic diagrams or process and instrumentation diagrams.
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair Industrial HVAC systems is a plus (but not required).
- Utilize technical documentation (prints, manuals, specifications, etc.) to aid in troubleshooting.
- Perform alignment and calibration of instruments and electrical circuits to ensure proper operation.
- Safely work with pressure, temperature, level and flow in pipe systems and using pressure gauge for leak testing.
- Ensure operation of plant and facility equipment by performing scheduled and unscheduled repairs, rebuilds, inspections and routines
Requirements
- Minimum of two year electrical/instrumentation trade school degree or minimum five years’ experience in an electrical/instrumentation apprenticeship program. Related work in an electrical/instrumentation maintenance organization may be considered in lieu of degree and apprenticeship
- Experience with Robotics (Fanuc) preferred.
- Must have good communication skills (written and oral) and possess the ability to work closely with operations personnel on a daily basis
- Must be a safety leader and follow all safe work practices and policies
- Must be familiar with instrumentation loops and pneumatic controls
- Must be self-motivated and willing to learn
- Must have the ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner
- Must have the ability to deal with frequent changes, delays and unexpected events
- Preferred candidates will be trained in and be knowledgeable of NFPA 70E requirements, motivated, positive, energetic and flexible in working days or nights and will have a full working knowledge of process equipment, control systems, valves, drive components, electrical distribution systems, pumps, piping systems and troubleshooting techniques which may be gained through a combination of experience and on the job training.
