Mechanic

Job Highlights

• Experience in industrial maintenance required. Welding and fabrication skills are a plus.
• Troubleshoots equipment using mechanical knowledge, equipment specification sheets and manufacturer literature to restore to operation.
• Performs basic maintenance on valves, pumps, compressors, blowers, blenders and other various industrial equipment.
• Ensure operation of plant and facility mechanical equipment by performing scheduled and unscheduled repairs, rebuilds, inspections and routines.
• Serve as a support person to other departments
• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance to plant and facility equipment
• Update equipment history files
• Utilize technical documentation (prints, manuals, specifications, etc.) to aid in troubleshooting.
• Safely handle hazardous and non-hazardous materials and wastes in compliance with all plant requirements and environmental regulations.
• Ensure lock out of equipment prior to work
• Responsible for putting used oil wastes into the appropriate hazardous waste drums and labeling drums
• Participates in and accepts all Safety, Environmental and Health responsibilities.
• Ensure safekeeping of company equipment
• Promote and enforce established HSEQ policies and procedures.
• Maintain Core Values: safety, health, and environmental, highest ethical behavior, and  respect for people
• Executes all required scheduled maintenance activities to support Production KPIs.
• Support and implement Continuous Improvement initiatives and processes to promote consistent, high-quality products, streamlining of operations to meet customer requirements.

Requirements

• Minimum of two year industrial maintenance trade school degree or minimum five years’ experience in industrial maintenance. Related work in a mechanical maintenance organization may be considered in lieu of degree and apprenticeship
• High School diploma or GED equivalent.
• Willingness and ability to work overtime, including holidays, weekends, and on short notice call in as required.
• Willingness and ability to wear required PPE (personal protective equipment) such as steel toes, hardhat, protective eyewear, face shields, arc protective clothing, and SCBA (self-contained breathing apparatus).
• Willing and able to work in a high-hazard process.
• Willing and able to lift up to 50 pounds, climb stairs, ladders, columns, and to stand, walk, stoop, bend, kneel, crawl, reach overhead, hear and respond to alarms, and possess visual acuity for close work.
• Proficiency in Microsoft applications (Word, Outlook, Excel, etc.) and SAP - able to learn new computer systems.
