Job Highlights
  • Set, communicate and consistently enforce high expectations for Operations employees, and hold them accountable for their safety and operational performance using both positive and corrective feedback.
    • Conduct documented performance reviews for operators, providing feedback on performance, along with opportunities for improvement, as applicable
  • Coordinate maintenance work and assist with the development, approval and implementation of Safe Work Permits (SWP), meeting safety and production requirements.
    • Ensure SWPs are carried out, checked and closed out, providing support for release and start-up (Pre-Start-up Safety Review – PSSR). Authorize work permits as required.
  • Monitor plant wide activities to ensure procedures are followed and regulatory requirements are satisfied.                                               
  • Collaborate with all departments to execute the daily production plan safely and efficiently to produce high quality products.                             
  • Compile documentation associated with production unit status, environmental monitoring, shift change, etc. Ensure all required data is collected and within acceptable limits.
    • Report issues identified, and work with the team to resolve them
  • Coordinate maintenance activities/call-outs in accordance with production needs.
  • Proactively respond to any conditions or process deviations that may negatively impact discharges to air, soil or water.
  • Complete incidents and near miss reports/notifications, participate in investigations and implement corrective actions.
Requirements
  • 5-10 years of similar experience in manufacturing environment
  • Computer Skills – Microsoft Office Package, SAP experience is an advantage. 
  • Experience reading P&ID’s and process flow diagrams. 
  • Working with Process Control Systems (PCS), interpreting process data, and coordinating a response to optimize operational conditions. 
  • Experience in chemical operations, working with hazardous materials at a PSM/RMP facility. 
  • Having worked in a Union Environment is desired. 
  • Strong organizational skills, along with strong communication skills.
