Job Highlights

Performs engineering assignments of processes improvements/projects by analyzing, determining solutions and implementing process improvements to achieve Production, Safety and Environmental goals.

Job Responsibilities

  • Support coninuous improvement and troubleshooting efforts with a goal of implementing engineering changes to the processes or operations to achieve efficiency gains in cost such as utilities, labor, raw materials and equipment as well as to increase production and conservation of energy.
  • Support safety, health, and environmental goals by improving equipment, work environments, and process safety.
  • Prepare for process hazard analysis (PHA/HAZOP) initiatives, participate in HAZOPS, and implement recommendations.
  • Ownership of Safety Critical documentation such as Process and Instrumentation Diagrams" (P&ID's), Electrical Classification, equipment files processes to ensure accuracy.  Critical for compliance, regulatory, MOC, OSHA.
  • Development, design and implementation of process related engineering improvements projects through data collection, analysis, solution, implmentation.  Work closely with plant salary and hourly team for project planning and implementation - including capital. Utilize DMAIC process to manage projects.
  • Tracking of project costs, timelines and performance against project goals and objectives.
  • Support troubleshooting efforts around process, quality, safety to help resolve plant issues.
  • Manage MOC process for process, equipment, operational changes made onsite.  Utilize OneMOC tool and Velocity software to create and manage MOC process to ensure timely resoltuion of action items.
  • Perform conventional, engineering assignments that may involve equipment or product desging, testing of materials, and /or prcess studies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering is required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment - with a strong understanding of safety, basic equipment, and plant functions.
  • Skilled in developing and managing a process improvement project.   Knowledge of DMAIC process.
  • Knowledge of project management to set goals and meet dates.
  • Ability to utilize process safety documentation such as P&IDs, HAZOPs, Process Flow Diagrams.
