Job Highlights

 

  • Transact operational procurement tasks for well-established, less complicated operational procurement sites/functions to include the purchase of any direct and/or indirect materials and/or services by any group function or business unit within LANXESS North America sites.  
  •  Convert all purchase requisitions into purchase orders within one business day and follow up on order confirmations with vendor to ensure on time delivery.
  •  Maintain all system objects needed for the purposes of placing orders (source lists, info records, outline agreements, pricing, vendors, etc.)
  •  Support all automation aspects of an Operational Buyer desk to ensure efficiency optimization and a streamlined desk.
  •  Maintain all required documentation and processes needed to perform an operational desk.
  •  Work with North America Master Data to ensure setup of order address vendors or changes to existing vendors as needed to ensure the proper issuance of PO's.
  • Communicate and cultivate professional relationships with external suppliers, maintain a good working and professional relationship with internal customers, management, strategic buyers, receiving, accounting and production.
  • Work in conjunction with accounts payable, business units, group functions, and warehousing to resolve any invoice/purchase order issues.
  • Run and distribute the necessary reports that may be needed by the Operational Procurement Team to support daily activities.
  • Support the Operational Procurement Team as needed for routine daily tasks (PO date changes, confirmations, outline agreement and PO price updates, etc.) for their desks.

Requirements

 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Logistics, Supply Chain or other closely related field.
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience.
  • Ability to be a self-starter with a sense of urgency and know how to manage time well.
  • Have high organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and effectively attend to high priority matters while managing multiple tasks and assignments.
  • Able to anticipate and identify problems, analyze and consider alternatives, consult with appropriate colleagues and implement the right solution while monitoring results.
  • Plan and prioritize work to meet commitments aligned with organizational goals.
  • Ability to perform well in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.
  • Able to work well in a virtual team environment with peers, business partners and end-users.
  • Understand Procurement Principals from Procure to Pay.
  • Ability to interface and effectively communicate with all levels of the LANXESS organization.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are a must.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office, SAP S4 HANA, Ariba, FIORI and M4P.
  • Travel may be necessary on occasion.
  • This is a HYBRID role located in the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania office.  The expectation is that the candidate will be able to be on site at least 3 days per week every week.
