Job Highlights

  • Conduct internal Global Compliance Check audits, ensuring compliance to LANXESS Directives and regional / regulatory requirements in the areas of process safety, occupational safety, environmental law, and dangerous goods compliance. Conduct federally mandated OSHA PSM and EPA RMP audits at LXS production sites to assess compliance to applicable regulations/laws.
  • Support the highly visible global Intelex MOC project, which shall replace local, stand-alone IT solutions for change management, resulting in global efficiencies, complexity reduction, risk mitigation and cost savings. Support the process of software module development, testing, implementation, and rollout to North America, then globally, while meeting both timeline milestones and budget committments. 
  • Support the NA regional process and operational safety management (POSM) program in line with industry and company standards. This includes, but is not limited to: Guidance documents, FAQs, code/standards, websites, and subscriptions, and system tools. Identify new tools, enhance existing systems, issue alerts/updates on emerging regulatory changes and impacts to regional and global stakeholders for compliance and risk mitigation.
  • Develop and lead trainings and workshops in Process and Operational Safety Management (POSM) principles and industry standards and regulation as it relates to work processes in chemicals operations for plant managers and site teams.
  • As a recognized expert in the field of process safety, monitor upcoming revisions and changes to process safety regulations, investigate and communicate these changes to LANXESS site and BU leadership as appropriate. Provide technical expertise and guidance to site management and leadership teams with regard to process safety regulatory compliance. Manage the process by which sites are managing comliance with laws and internal directives and standards.  
  • In a consultancy role to the NAFTA sites and BUs, conduct or participate in select safety-related reviews when requested or when appropriate. Participate in incident investigations with root cause analysis and corrective action management. 
  • Develop, implement, and communicate effective process safety KPI reporting and tracking at the regional level of all business units. Analyze data and identify trends (positive or negative) and develop strategic plans to address increased risks, negative performance or to highlight best practices within the BUs.

Requirements

  • Masters degree in an engineering, chemistry or scientific field (advanced degree preferred)
  • > 10 years of industry experience
  • Analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • In-depth knowledge of US OSHA and EPA process safety requirements, as well as LXS directives and industry RAGAGEP
  • International experience 
  • Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills
  • Previous experience as a site/plant manager or leadership role is preferred

  • Compensation: We offer competitive compensation packages, inclusive of a global bonus program and an individual performance bonus program. The established pay range for this position is $125,000.00 to $166,600.00. Please note, the actual compensation may vary based on geographic location, work experience, education, and skill level.
