Account Manager - Urethanes (Remote/Home Office)

Job Highlights

  • This position can be located at a home office in the continental US, so long as they are somewhat close to a major airport.
  • Maintain existing and develop new professional customer relationships.  Provide timely first call technical support to customers.  Increase LANXESS’ exposure and explore possibilities for new developments by creating a network of contacts within a customer, focusing on R&D contacts and key decision makers.
  • Develop opportunity pipeline, ensuring technical and commercial validation of projects and actively manage projects through commercialization of new business; directly interface with product management and technical colleagues to ensure alignment and prioritization. 
  • Commercial management of accounts including negotiation of product pricing, service levels and terms with both new and existing portfolio of customers.
  • Manage distributor (if applicable), assess ongoing distributor performance, and partner with distributor by being the key interface between URE and the distributor in order to profitably grow distribution sales.  If this role ultimately does not include distribution management, more time will be allocated to above activities for direct accounts.
  • Forecast demand and manage customer projects. Professional use of CRM and forecasting tools to ensure supply and demand planning accuracy and detailed customer records for market and product data, visit reports and pipeline opportunities. 
  • Coordinate with other functions to ensure delivery of growth plans in territory

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree; Technical Science field preferred
  • Experience in urethanes and in particular cast elastomers and knowledge of elastomer applications highly desired.
  • Ability to value sell and develop new business. Proven track record of strong negotiation skills.
  • Technical competency to provide first line technical service.
  • Excellent interpersonal relationship management and communications skills.  
  • Highly self-motivated with bias for action.  
  • 50%+ travel required.
