Job Highlights

LANXESS Urethanes Business Line is comprised of coatings, adhesives, sealants and elastomers (CASE). The US business today, is predominately focused on the elastomer business. The LANXESS Urethanes go-forward business strategy targets significant growth within the CAS sector.   This role will be focused in promoting our whole CAS portfolio in existing accounts, in order to cross-sell our entire portfolio as well as hunt for new accounts. The objective of the role is to support the growth of our CAS portfolio in the USA.

Job Description

  • Maintain existing and develop new professional customer relationships, to provide timely first call technical support to customers.  Increase Lanxess exposure and possibilities for new developments by creating a network of contacts within a customer, focusing on procurement and R&D contacts and key decision makers.
  • Develop  CAS opportunity pipeline, ensuring technical and commercial validation of projects and actively manage projects through commercialization of new business; including direct interface with technical, marketing, supply chain and production. 
  • Research of  new market opportunities in CAS by understanding the customer product and technical requirements in order to provide competitive solutions using LANXESS Urethane product lines and technologies.
  • Commercial management of accounts including negotiation of product pricing, service levels and terms with both new and existing portfolio of customers.
  • Understand customer projects, demand and forecast. Professional use of CRM and forecasting tools to ensure supply and demand planning accuracy and detailed customer records for market and product data, visit reports and pipeline opportunities.
  • Create market maps and outline product opportunities for new developments; present to management at regular intervals.
  • Channel partner and route to market assessment with Regional Management to ensure correct distributor is allocated for CAS products.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree is required, Technical Science degree highly preferred.
  • A minimum of five years of industry experience is required. 
  • Experience and proven compentencies in the field of industrial coatings and/or adhesives and/or Polyurethane dispersions is preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in project management a must.
  • Ability to sell and develop new business with a track record of strong negotiation skills is required.
  • Excellent interpersonal relationship management and communication skills. 
  • Willingness to travel is a must.

  • Compensation: We offer competitive compensation packages, inclusive of a global bonus program and an individual performance bonus program. The established pay range for this position is $115,000 to $145,000. Please note, the actual compensation may vary based on geographic location, work experience, education, and skill level.
