Strategy Development Manager (On-site)

Job Highlights

  • Initiate and conduct market research and analysis, identify and analyze market/application/product segments and value chains and make recommendations for growth. Hire and supervise external consultants and market research firms.
  • Lead strategic planning process, multi-functionals teams, track implementation, recommend strategies to senior management, represent LAB in LANXESS strategic community.
  • Drive and implement other strategic projects that impact short term operations, including cost optimization, digitalization, etc. Track and benchmark competitors and identify technology trends.
  • Drive M&A process, assess targets and make recommendations for pursuit.
  • Serve as information consultant for the business and manage annual risks/opportunities management (RIMIS system).  Provide strategy training within business unit.
  • Drive and implement other strategic projects that impact short term operations, including cost optimization, digitalization, etc.


  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Chemistry or Engineering or a technical undergraduate degree.  MBA preferred.
  • B2B market experience, prior consulting experience and prior leadership/supervisory experience preferred.
  • At least 10 years of relevant experience.
  • Must have a collaborative, team oriented, global perspective with strong ownership of tasks and deadlines.
  • Must have a detail oriented business acumen, strong analytical skills, with a process efficiency improvement focus and be a continuous learner.
  • Skilled two way communicator, including with senior executives; ability to create and give effective presentations.
  • Previous project management experience with a participative leadership style; entrepreneurial vision with ability to inspire others.
  • Occasional travel required.
