Job Highlights
Purpose of the position
- Lead technical services Procurement of Lanxess India with knowledge in technical Goods will be an added advantage.
- Drive cost reduction, risk minimization and innovation within his/her area of responsibility
- Define and execute systematic approach to TS contract optimization and renewal under competitive conditions.
- Lead Engineering Consultants for various Capex Projects.
- Define and implement competitive purchasing and proactive risk management strategies for Lanxess India within technical procurement
- Manage compliance and sustainability efforts and related projects.
Responsibilities
- Provide systematic approach to cost savings in technical services and continuously improve respective strategies.
- Exposure in Technical Goods will be an added advantage.
- Benchmark TS costs between production sites as well as market
- Manage technical service ARCs, AMCs contracts with service providers.
- Ensure HO Thane and site buyers focus on Synergy between sites, rationalize vendors and leverage spend.
- Lead negotiations for services procurement. Represent GPL in critical negotiations.
- Steer, guide and train site TG/TS procurement team on technical aspects, ideas/methods of internal costing, estimation enabling them to learn and assist in services procurement/delivery
- Provide procurement management to special projects like expansions, global outsourcing, investment projects feasibility studies etc.
- Providing execution/implementation support to Projects and playing key role on coordination between Contractors / Engineering Consultants / Supplier / Technical departments for smooth execution of Project
- Bring Technical know-how and experience in play for technical services. Develop alternate vendors to enhance competition and reduce dependency / single vendor situation thereby reducing costs and minimizing risks
- Contractor Safety Management (CSM) - Improve the CSM standards, Managing CSM.

Required Skills & Competencies
- Lead approver for all comparisons and proposals before getting approved by Head TGTS
- Supervisory responsibility for synergies between sites for both TG & TS and provide presentation/explanation in case of synergy not possible.
- Participate in leadership training programs over and above increasing work load
- Develop center of excellence for estimation / internal costing of services.
- Guide and Train site teams on technical aspects and estimation
Basic Requirements
- Education: B.E. Mechanical/Electrical/Production/Civil Engineering with more 10 years' experience with PRO experience of more 7 years.
- Needs to have excellent Technical know-how skills./ Technical Services.
- Business acumen with responsibility, independent, creativity, flexibility, good communication, fast action & teamwork.
- Needs to be a good communicator as role involves extensive communication with internal and external customers/vendors.
- Knowledge of corporate/procurement system and processes. IT familiarity is a must (Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office must)
