Our online application system offers you various ways of using it, namely a. applying for a job advertisement and b. creating a candidate profile of yourself without having to apply for a specific position. When creating your profile, you have the option of choosing whether your general data (applicant profile) may also be used and processed for other vacancies – advertised or not – within LANXESS. In addition, a chatbot (career buddy) is available to support you in the application process.
a. You
have the option of applying online for an advertised position. To do this, create a profile in the Candidate Community and then make your application available online. The transmission of your data and the file attachments sent with it takes place via an encrypted connection. The legal basis for the processing of your data is your consent in accordance with Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR.
b. Candidate Community Profile
You also have the option of registering online in the Candidate Community without having to apply for a specific advertised position, and setting up a password-protected candidate profile. In your profile, you can manage your data and set up a search agent. Your e-mail address, together with your password, will be used to identify you and access your profile in the Candidate Community. The legal basis for the processing of your data is Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR.
c. Phenom's Career Buddy
You can use the LANXESS Career Buddy, which can process simple search queries. The use of the Career Buddy is voluntary. To enable the search, structured data from the Career Buddy is transferred to the CRM. This includes, for example, data from applicants' CVs. However, the chatbot does not access the uploaded documents directly, but only the transferred structured data. Only what is relevant for the search is transferred, such as name and email address.
We use artificial intelligence to sift through application data that we receive. Intelligent matching algorithms help us to prioritize within the review of applications and to rank applicants based on the professional characteristics required for the respective position (experience, location, skills). On this basis, the most suitable candidates for a position can be contacted for further selection procedures. The legal basis for reviewing compliance with tender requirements is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest lies in the more efficient implementation of the selection procedures.
e. Talent pool in our applicant management system (Candidate Community)
In addition to the pool of interested candidates on our career website, there is also a talent pool in case you have applied and your application for the originally advertised position is not further considered. If you would like to be included in this pool, we will need your name, email address and any other information you would like to provide to us (CV, qualifications, work experience and similar). Based on the information you provide, you will receive targeted job offers that match your interests. The legal basis for the processing of your data is your consent in accordance with Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR.

The provision of your data is voluntary. However, without providing you with the data required to carry out an application process, we will not be able to start the application process with you. a. If you apply for a specific job and enter your personal data to express your interest in a job, you agree that we may share your personal data with the LANXESS group company offering the position, which may use your data and contact you for employment-related purposes as defined in Section 6.
b. If you are not applying exclusively for a specific job, but enter your personal data to express your (additional) interest in working for LANXESS, you agree that we may pass on your data to national or international LANXESS group companies in accordance with your selection, which may use your data and contact you for employment-related purposes within the meaning of Section 6.

8. Data processing outside the EU
Data may be transferred to LANXESS companies in countries outside the European Union (EU) or the European Economic Area (EEA; so-called third countries). However, this is only done in a legally permissible manner.
9. Duration of storage
We store your data for as long as it is necessary to decide on your application. If an employment relationship is not established, we may also store your data further insofar as this is necessary to defend against possible legal claims. As a rule, the application documents are anonymised 12 months after the rejection decision is announced.
If you are not applying for a specific position, but only store your data in the Candidate Community profile and if you have not logged into your account within a period of 12 months, your data will be automatically anonymised after 12 months.

The log data is used in accordance with Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR for the purposes of ensuring the proper and secure operation of the service as well as for the analysis and improvement of product quality. The other personal data mentioned above will be processed in accordance with Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR in order to improve the search process for recruiters. - Automated decision-making:
There is no automated decision-making in connection with the use of the Career Buddy. - Data storage:
The processing of the user's questions and answers from the Career Buddy is fleeting, i.e. neither input nor output is stored. Only the questions asked can be viewed by the user in his individual search history. Unknown questions from users can be saved for quality analysis and further development of the system.
Users have the option of deleting entries in this personal search history at any time. All personal data provided in the search dialog is stored for a maximum of 12 months before it is automatically deleted.
Beyond this period, data will only be stored to the extent required by the legal, regulatory or other legal provisions to which we are subject.
