The Role
As an HSE Officer you play a key role in safeguarding and improving safety, health and environmental performance within a complex chemical production environment. You advise management and operations, support projects and ensure that regulations are not only followed, but also translated into practical solutions on the shop floor.
You will work within a specialized HSE team on a BRZO-regulated site where safety is always the top priority. In this role you combine analysis, advisory work and visibility on the plant to continuously improve HSE performance.
Job Highlights
• Key role in safety, health and environmental performance within a complex BRZO chemical production site
• Advising line management, operators and project teams on HSE topics
• Safeguarding and continuously improving HSE performance across the organisation
• Further development and application of the HSE management system (ISO 45001 & ISO 14001)
• Translating European directives and legislation into practical solutions on the work floor
• Performing and coordinating risk assessments (RI&E), audits and incident investigations
• Providing HSE guidance during projects, turnarounds and process modifications
• Organising training sessions and awareness programs related to safety and health
• Analysing HSE data and reporting trends and improvement opportunities
• Maintaining contact with regulatory authorities, Deltalinqs, VNCI and other external stakeholders
Experience / Skills
• Bachelor's level education or equivalent working and thinking level
• Completed Higher Safety Engineering qualification (HVK) or equivalent
• Minimum 10 years of HSE experience within the chemical, petrochemical or BRZO environment
• Experience with ISO 45001, ISO 14001 and HSE management systems
• Knowledge of chemical processes, operational risks and process safety
• Experience with internal audits, risk assessments and incident investigations
• Strong advisory and influencing skills
• Strong communication skills in Dutch and English
• Independent, proactive and pragmatic mindset
• Able to prioritise and perform effectively in a dynamic production environment
Contract Type: Regular permanent
